Job Description

We are a technology company focused on creating compelling digital products for architecture, design, and the unbuilt environment. We are pioneering the future of real-time 3D experiences by fusing cutting-edge generative Machine Learning with immersive rendering technologies. Our projects span architectural visualization, software, interactive simulations, and creative media. We have studios in New York, London, and Barcelona.

We are seeking a Senior Unreal Engine Artist / Lead Visualization Artist with a deep background in architecture and real-time 3D production. This is both a hands-on and leadership role: you’ll craft stunning environments, guide the art and technical direction of projects, and mentor a small team of visualization artists. You will oversee the creation of interactive, photoreal scenes using Unreal Engine 5, ensuring every project meets the highest standards of design quality and performance. A mastery of Perforce for version control, scene organization, and multi-user production pipelines is essential. You’ll collaborate closely with software developers, designers, and Unreal engineers — helping to evolve NOVΛVERSE’s visualization standards, workflows, and creative R&D efforts in real-time rendering, Gaussian Splatting, and interactive streaming systems.

The ideal candidate has expert-level experience with Movie Render Queue (MRQ) production, lighting and camera composition, and Perforce-based collaborative workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative & Technical Leadership:
    • Lead visualization efforts across multiple Unreal Engine projects.
    • Define visual standards, optimize workflows, and maintain quality across teams.
    • Mentor and review the work of junior and mid-level artists.
  • Environment & Scene Creation:
    • Build cinematic, photorealistic architectural environments using Unreal Engine 5.
    • Oversee scene composition, lighting, materials, and asset integration for maximum fidelity and performance.
  • Cinematic Rendering:
    • Direct and produce cinematic sequences and high-fidelity imagery using Movie Render Queue (MRQ).
    • Create visually striking camera compositions, depth of field, exposure, and tone mapping setups.
    • Integrate post-processing, color grading, and real-time ray tracing techniques for film-quality outputs.
  • Pipeline & Collaboration:
    • Manage and maintain production pipelines using Perforce, ensuring efficient collaboration and asset versioning.
    • Coordinate with developers and technical artists to streamline data flow between web systems, Unreal, and visualization tools.
  • Optimization & Technical Oversight:
    • Profile performance and implement optimization strategies for lighting, textures, and geometry.
    • Collaborate with the software team to support Pixel Streaming and real-time deployment.
  • Architectural Insight:
    • Interpret CAD, BIM, and design intent accurately — ensuring architectural detail and proportion are preserved in real-time.
    • Liaise with architects and visualization leads to translate design language into 3D expression.
  • Innovation & R&D:
    • Explore emerging methods in Gaussian Splatting, NeRFs, and AI-assisted visualization.

Contribute to internal tools, libraries, and techniques that enhance NOVΛVERSE’s visualization pipeline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Visualization, or related 3D field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in real-time visualization or 3D art.
  • Proven background in architectural visualization, with strong spatial understanding and composition skills.
  • Expert proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 (lighting, materials, Blueprints, level streaming, and cinematic sequencing).
  • Extensive experience with Perforce for version control and collaborative scene management.
  • Proficient in 3ds Max, Blender, Substance Suite, and Datasmith workflows.
  • Familiarity with Pixel Streaming, WebGL, and integration with web systems a plus.
  • Understanding of real-time rendering optimization and performance management.
  • Experience with Gaussian Splatting or emerging real-time 3D reconstruction technologies a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
  • Eye for design — balancing architectural accuracy with cinematic beauty.
  • Ability to work in office in London or Remote

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, equity and benefits package.
  • Flexible work environment and remote work annual allowance
  • Opportunities to work on cutting-edge, high-visibility projects in architectural visualization and interactive systems.
  • A collaborative, creative work environment with room for innovation and growth.
  • The chance to influence project direction and improve overall pipeline efficiency.
